Murrays' deliveries are electric

Murrays the Printers has made history after purchasing the first Renault electric vehicle in the UK.
We have beat a host of multi-national firms to take delivery of our Kangoo Z.E at Marshall Renault in Westcroft.
The revolutionary van is the world’s first electric vehicle produced by a mass market manufacturer – making the achievement all the more special.
We first registered our interest over a year ago and in anticipation of the purchase had a charging point installed in our new factory when moving premises. And the van is at the heart of the green ethos Managing Director Patrick Chard has introduced into the company.
“We made a conscious decision a couple of years ago to be as green as possible, from vehicles to printing presses and the paper and materials we source. The Kangoo Van Z.E is the first electric van to market from a manufacturer and it ticks every box.
“It is great for our customers too, as they are also concerned about the environment and we can now deliver locally with zero emissions.”
The purchase comes after we were awarded Environmental Management Standard ISO 14001 last year. It means Murrays now has its own environmental policy and continuing processes in place to keep on reducing our environmental impact.
The Kangoo was part of that and comes with an impressive pedigree having already won the International Van of the Year 2012 and What Van? Magazine’s Van of the Year. It has a range of up to 106 miles and costs £2.50 to £3 for a full charge.
Ian Plummer, Renault’s Director of Commercial Operations congratulated Mr Chard when handing over the keys.
He said: “Several well-known UK Companies have already ordered Kangoo Z.E for their fleet requirements, so we’re sure many private customers will join Mr Chard in reaping the rewards of lower cost and greener electric motoring.”
